INTRODUCTION

Sindile Foundation was formed out of the need to find a solution to the prevalent social ills in South Africa. Our country is riddled with deeply ingrained disparities and inequalities, which we have tried to overcome in the past 28 years of our democracy. There are large majorities of people who are unemployed, uneducated, malnourished and homeless. These are the basic needs which every human being, especially children, should be able to access in a growing economy such as ours. We believe it is our responsibility to contribute in creative and innovative ways by helping the helpless and bridging the gap between those who want to effect positive change and those who need to be empowered and uplifted by this change. We also understand that if we do not address the root causes of our problems, we will not bring effective and lasting change.
